Today we run House of Silk as an affordable luxury base for all small-scale and production needs. Our printed range continues to grow as we search high and low to keep up with fashion trends. While our store next door, Fabrix remains the go-to for essentials and haberdashery.
Soon the entire store has been converted into a fabric store. Our range keeps getting bigger and we have to one a second store next door. Stocking threads and everything you could possibly need to sew are sold.
We expand into fabrics, sumptuous silks, raw leather skins and soft linings. We get a good response from customers.
Leaving Afghanistan behind and moving to London was a big step. We open a home goods store, selling rugs, leather and fur pillows.
Our founder opens a leather market stall in Afghanistan in 1986 at just 16 years old. Selling mostly Russians, the leather is turned into striking jackets and classy shoes.
